It is extremely difficult to focus in on 1 player per position, but I am certainly going to try my best to do so. Remember Slack Chat is where we can help the most, so tune in there so we can help discuss and build your lineups.

These are 5 players (one per position) whom we think are relatively must-have’s in lineup construction.

Point Guard – Tyus Jones

We do know according to reports, that Butler will be back in action tonight, while Derrick Rose played a massive trick on everyone on Sunday, being active, but then being ruled out. Clearly something is not right with him and even if Rose gets called active again, don’t take the chance. Tyus Jones should be leading PG responsibilities for the Wolves for the time being with Teague out.

Jrue Holiday also deserves a note here, with Elfrid Payton out, the main beneficiary has been Jrue Holiday taking on a more offensive role and usage, even with Anthony Davis on the floor.

Shooting Guard – Terrance Ross

I wanted to put Rodney Hood here at first, but after seeing how great Ross played yesterday, I think it is better if we talk about him. Jonathan Isaac is expected to be out again, which means Ross is the front runner for increased minutes. Unfortunately, his minutes per game depends on how well he is scoring the ball. Take the chances on Ross as he goes up against one of the worst defensive teams in the league.

Take note as well, Donovan Mitchell has already been ruled out for the Jazz and we can expect Grayson Allen to fill in again, where he played 27 minutes last time. Even more upside now with Crowder and Favors currently a GTD.

Small Forward –  Sam Dekker

Ever since Kevin Love has been sidelined, Dekker has moved into the starting role with a decent amount of minutes per game. His price continues to stay pretty even due to his lack of consistent play, but I don’t see how you ignore the value he can bring on a game to game basis. Osman and Hood have also picked up some extra usage, but Osman has trended downwards based on his price, and Hood’s price is starting to reflect his recent price leaving him with less value, but still heavy consideration.

Power Forward – Wendell Carter Jr.

Carter is bound to regress at some point, but until the Bulls start getting healthy, Carter’s minutes and  usage isn’t going anywhere. Carter’s price isn’t going up at a very high rate, especially on DraftKings, so grab Carter and reap the benefits. The Knicks have been one of the worst defensive teams and among the worst 8 teams at PF and C, making Carter and even more solid of a value play.

Center – Boban Marjanovic/Montrezl Harrell

The Clippers were pretty up front with the fact that they were wanting to go a different direction with Gortat, and it just so happens he was/is dealing with an “undisclosed injury” when this all got announced. Marjanovic and Harrell split about 25 minutes each and posting extremely similar stat lines. Both provide nice value and if all continues the way it is supposed to, nothing should really change for their match against the Timberwolves. I expect Marjanovic will have to guard Towns, meaning Harrell should have a mismatch with Gibson and Marjanovic could be led into foul trouble unless he uses his reach to play defense in the low post.
